Bill Clinton – Americas No. 42

Only in America is a term so often used when you hear of unique events that occur their on what seems like a weekly basis. One such event which unfolded over a few months during the lead up to the end of the first term for President Clinton, was one that defies logic. But it was just as entertaining, especially watching it unfold in a country that doesn’t have to put up with that system of government.

I’m sure by now you know what I’m talking about, but if you don’t here is the brief overview. Bill Clinton was accused of having sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky in the oval office, of which he strongly denied and then after some evidence directly linking him to the event surfaced. He quickly shuffled his words into an apology for lying and told America and the world that he did indeed involve himself with Ms Lewinsky, a Whitehouse intern at the time.

Anyways, he was impeached for the lying, and got off somehow, then after all that, he managed to keep his marriage intact to Hilary Clinton, who later ran successfully for a senate seat in New York.

Another election came around and Bill was re-elected President of the United States. By the public who overwhelming hold a strong church view on marriages and adultery. But then again, only in America...

Oh and by the way did you know he was born as William Jefferson Blythe III?
