Masterchef Australia – Mastershow

Slicing, dicing, chopping and grating are all actions affiliated with the kitchen. But not with the highest television ratings like Masterchef Australia has. Syndicated from the American version with much success by the Ten network this year, this show has highlighted the skills of everyday Australians in the kitchen. Men and women alike showing their non-professional talent at play. With all the pressure of challenges and rewards, and the dreaded weekly booting from the judges. The finale which crowned Julie as the first winner, pulled in around 3.8 million viewers, which makes it the largest non-sport event in Australian television. What a gem for channel 10 this show is now.
I guess the only knock back would be the constant cheeky editing to create a sense of drama, but if they didnt do that the critics would call the show boring and lifeless. It also showed a rather realistic result for the finale, when Julie beat out her rival by five points, rather than some rigged one point showdown like we see so often on shows like Survivor.
Its a recipe for success (pun intended). Keep up the good work Masterchef.
