Car Bra’s – looking stupid to save paint

Some will tell you it saves paint on the trips interstate, or it stops stones from flying into your radiator, but the truth is it looks really stupid. The car bra was designed to stop stone chips on nose cone and bonnet paint work, as well as providing a very slight protection for the front lights. It always seems to be pretentious drivers in ugly european cars that are attrated to using these bra's. There is a bright red one on a black Volkswagon Golf in an AAMI ad on tv. I have even seen people drving around town with them on. My points are this, the stone chip damage is minimal and with todays tougher paint, it happens even less. So for the sake of looking like an idiot on the road, dont use these bra's. Remember that buying one of these is over $500, which would easily cover the costs of a repray to the affected areas.
