Lego – Building blocks of life
If you were lucky enough to have a Lego set as a kid, then you would have become a junior engineer of sorts. I had one of those traditional mix and match kits, where building anything was possible. Just thinking of how much money was spent on getting the kit to that variety and size makes you wonder how food was put on the table.
Good news is the kit is still in my possession, well at least under the watchful eye of my parents for the future use of grandkids.
Have you ever seen those incredible creations where people (with a lot of spare time) create massive replicas of buildings, animals and famous people? I admire their skill and their ability to find so many Lego pieces of the one colour.
No other toy from my generation was more useful and gave opportunities to children to create mini cities and inhabit them with those little men with the funny costumes. Lego still lives on and rightly so, maybe Germaine Greer might have something destructive to say about it, and we can punish her by building a fortress of Lego to keep the old hag imprisoned.
