Lash Dramatisation

lashI just saw an TV ad for Maybeline Stiletto, which seems to be another one of these wonder eye lash extension products. You know the kind, a brush and some gunk that claims to extend and thicken your eye lashes. And every time you see another ad, they claim to have extended the lashes even more, which by now lashes should be at least a couple of feet long. In fact some girls should have lashes touching the ground considering were told constantly they are getting even longer.

Back to the point of this blog entry, the add showed a close up of a girls eye lashes and at the bottom left of the screen was the words "lash dramatisation". Meaning the close up had been edited to increase the eye lashes in length. Which effectively means misleading the customers into thinking they can get similar results. But the advertising firm would have you believe they are not misleading because they inform people that its been altered. But that begs the question why alter it in the first place? It's like showing a family car with 6 wheels instead of four and informing people "wheel quantity dramatisation".

It should be banned because a lot of people are ignorant and are easily lead astray and large companies control their perceptions.
