Humans are animals after all

You only need to spend an evening at a pub, club or speed dating session to see the similarities between animals and humans. After all we did come from the Ape and only the church would disagree with that in this day and age.

I'm talking about trying to get the attention and desire of another human being. In the animal world it's fairly simple, you get together through one way or another and reproduce, in some cases you move on, some die and some then stay together forever. But in the end the idea is not for love, the dream of a quarter ache block with a house or a dream holiday in Europe, it's sex and kids.

However the way they get there is all to similar to the bag of tricks that we use to snag a partner. Lyre birds sing some of the most unique calls of any winged creature, they do this for the attention of a female. How many men have gotten up on stage to sing with the band or try their luck at karaoke?

The male lions of Africa will fight each other for the rights to the females in the pride. I've seen men fighting over women at the pub plenty of times.

Then there is the peacock who uses a colourful array of feathers to achieve the attention of the female. We can easily relate this to those who are often called metrosexuals. These metrosexuals take their time in dressing up, doing their hair, choosing carefully from their extensive wardrobe, and in the end choosing to wear an overpriced tee shirt and ripped jeans. They to use their 'colourful feathers' to attempt a pass on an unsuspecting female.

The list goes on, but your getting the point, we have a habit of immitating animal behaviour, and in fact the truth is we are probably just doing what is natural.
