Bottle Water
This is a recycled blog but it's bugging me, so I have re-surfaced the issue.
It seemed only right to quickly cover this topic, considering that over 115 billion litres of bottled water is sold each year worldwide, and in its biggest market, the United States, it holds over 25% of the liquid refreshment market.
The source of the contents of each bottle varies, from underground sources like rivers, lakes and artesian wells, as well as some countries making bottled water from above ground sources.
Whatever type of bottled water your getting your hands on, it will always be more expensive than the kind you get from your tap. Most bottled water is around $2.50 to $3.00 for 500ml, whereas you pay less than 5c for the same amount of the tap.
I’m not harping on about why you should not drink bottled water, I drink it myself. But just remember that those bottles due end up somewhere, and generally they don’t get recycled. So try using a little more of your local water supply, if yours is drinkable, which in most first world countries it is.
And remember, next time you complain of rising petrol costs, remember that your water is up to 600% more expensive.
