Spin Doctors
When you need to put a spin on a story, it's best to never have told the story before applying the spin. Therefore people can't reference the truth from the spin as easy as they can if they have heard the original. That is why I find the recent Carbon Tax talk so humourous. Not only did our pathetic excuse for a Prime Minister say she was not going to introduce a carbon tax at the last election, but she has also changed its advertising to make it seem more friendly. First it was a tax now it is a price. Does that mean we don't pay GST (General Services Tax)? Instead we pay a GSP (General Services Price). Then they call the 100 companies involved 'our countries biggest polluters', who on earth measured that? Did they follow them around for a year with a carbon capture device to analyse the output or was it simply a guess? It's also being peddled as the Clean Energy Future initiative, because it is intended to create a push for 'cleaner' energy ideas. The same ideas that often cost a horrible amount of money, like our Desalination plant to provide the water we don't need and consume the power we don't have spare. Then there is the age-old rule of thumb, if a company is taxed more, then they pass it on to the consumer. So the government has also looked at that too, claiming they have calculated the cost increases we will face and pumping the money back to us. But they forget that if I am taxed $10 and this affects my business, then I will make sure I charge enough to get my $10 back, so I can maintain the same income. So how does the government expect that industry wont do the same? They think they can pay the people some money to assist in the living cost increase and still have some tax money left over for green power ideas. It will become another massive fuck up on the account of a Labor government. The Greens are causing this, once again showing how little they know about money. Pathetic bunch of vegetarian, homosexual, PBR radio listening morons they are.
A world without the Greens is a better one. We want to advance the human race, not dwindle as prehistoric tree hugging pacifists.
Infused what?
When did tea becoming so boring that we needed to infuse it with tropical fruits to make it more enjoyable? People become tired of the same old flavour (that same flavour that has kept people happy for thousand of years). They want more than the average tea drinker. How about a hint of strawberry with your Earl grey? What on earth is fruit doing in my cup of tea? Just because both products come from a dirt dwelling organism doesn't mean they work together. I like tea, but with milk and sugar, leave the fruit in the bowl and I will eat that at my leisure.
Rolled oats are now on our shelves brandishing all sorts of varied flavours. Do you really want dried reconstituted fruit bits over the real thing? Is it that hard to add banana to your breakfast oats? If so then don't drive to work because you may be required to indicate when turning and occasionally you will need to use the brakes, that might be difficult for the likes of you.
Infusing is the process of a company adding the cheapest form of an ingredient and charging much more for it. Try adding your own fruit and save money along the way.
Facebook Divorce
Everywhere you go these days there is a reference to Facebook. Companies want you to 'like' or 'friend' them and people now communicate through it more than email.
The courts even mention Facebook as a banned form of communication when they issue their gag orders. And this ushers in a new trend I can see flooding our divorce courts. People fighting over their money and assets by making references to Facebook entires and friend lists. Will a husband or wife update their status to reflect their pending court battle or will they submit evidence of infidelity by showing Facebook as a source.
The disappointing thing about all this is that the children can access Facebook and long after the divorse is sealed in court documents, the trace of Facebook slander will be there for all to read and snicker at.
I just think people should keep their private lives a little more... private.
